“Shine On, a music documentary about the struggles and triumphs of Nova Scotian musician and producer Jon Mullane, was named best video, long form at the 16th annual Independent Music Awards in New York City.
Held at Lincoln Centre, the four-hour ceremony recognized artists in 94 categories. Mullane said his “musical journey has taken a lot of twists and turns and some bumps along the way, and it’s very cool for my story to be recognized and acknowledged in this way,” after picking up his award.
Shine On was produced and directed by Halifax-based filmmaker John Rosborough, and the win comes after Mullane’s Born Beautiful music video was honoured at the Music California Video Awards in San Francisco in February.”
