Jon Mullane
Jon Mullane is an award winning, Billboard charting, rock singer-songwriter from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, who has gained international acclaim and success with his music. He’s had several Canadian top 40, Billboard-charting radio singles, and his song, “My New American Girl”, broke into the top 40 at #32 on the US Billboard Hot AC Chart. His songs have been featured on numerous television shows, commercials and sporting events, including his hit single, “Make You Move”, on NBC promoting the Beijing Olympics.
Jon is a dynamic performer, whose songs instantly connect with audiences in any concert setting, large and small, and his list of concert and television appearances throughout North America is extensive, including performing at such legendary and iconic venues as The Viper Room and House of Blues in Hollywood, CA, 12th & Porter in Nashville, TN, and the Gibson Stage at NAMM in Anaheim, CA. Recent performances include the UFO Festival in Halifax, NS, Canada; the Canadian Consulate in Dallas, TX; and The Music California Video Award Ceremony in San Francisco, CA. His touring rock band consists of guitar, bass, keys, and drums.
Jon’s song, “Born Beautiful”, encourages all of us to embrace the beauty we can find within ourselves, and through this song and its video, in which a young woman rejects suicide, he has formed partnerships with mental health organizations, including the Canadian Mental Health Association (www.CMHA.ca), the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.NAMI.org – US), and the Campaign to Change Direction (www.changedirection.org – US/international), to help raise awareness and change the culture of mental health. The video for “Born Beautiful” is the winner of the 2016 Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA – www.hmmawards.com) for Best Independent Music Video, the 2016 International Music and Entertainment Award (IMEA – www.imeaawards.com) for Music Video of the Year, the 2016 LA Music Critics Award for Best Video (Official) Male, and the 2017 Music California Video Award.

Jon is the subject of a documentary, “Jon Mullane – Shine On” by John Rosborough of RPM Productions in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, which documents Jon’s musical career as well as his personal struggles and triumphs. The documentary was the winner of the 2018 International Music Award for Best Video Long Form and was chosen as an Official Selection in the 2018 Great Lakes International Film Festival.
In 2021 Jon released his first Holiday album Feels Like Christmas. It features new original songs plus Jon’s previously released Christmas singles.
“Having released three successful radio singles since 2010 I felt it was a good time to record some new songs and include them all in one cohesive album” says JM. “Christmas songs always seem to bring smiles and hope to people, and it’s really a great time of year for us all to connect musically and spiritually”.
Jon’s Christmas songs have been well embraced with listeners and radio programmers alike and spun extensively on radio stations throughout Canada, Europe and the US. His song Christmas Time (Show the world You Care) hit number 23 on the national Mediabase chart in Canada and has been featured in several Christmas movies, most recently on the Super Channel movie, “Mistletoe Magic” and Netflix’s “Christmas Inheritance.”
The album was recorded at various locations throughout North America including Halifax, Mahone Bay, and Lunenburg NS, Toronto ON, Los Angeles CA, and Seattle WA. Jon collaborated with several great songwriters, artists and producers on the project including fellow Canadians Jim Gelcer (Lee Aaron, Paul Hoffert), Johnny Douglas (Hemingway Corner), & Creighton Doane (Melanie Doane, Harum Scarum).
In 2020, after several years of living and performing in the US, Jon relocated to his home country of Canada, in the seaside town of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. His journey, both professionally and musically is documented in the Music Film/Concert Special titled “Hello Again – Live from Mahone Bay.”
In 2018, Jon released the album Singles, a 13-track collection of songs previously released as ‘singles,’ that included the hit songs My New American Girl, Born Beautiful and The One That Got Away, among others. The album also contained three new songs, including the lead single Freaks Me Out which was spun extensively on SiriusXM. The fun, playful accompanying music video was shot entirely in Los Angeles with director Ryan Sheehy and features iconic scenery of the Mulholland Canyon area. The video has been nominated for three awards at the 2022 Music California Video Awards.
