Ryche Chlanda is an accomplished guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, composer, and producer. Ryche was a founding member of America’s first progressive rock group, Fireballet. The band’s first album, “Night on Bald Mountain”, was produced by King Crimson founding member Ian McDonald, who went on to additional fame with Foreigner. Ryche also worked on the Intergalactic Touring Band project, played with the progressive band Nektar, and appeared on four successful tours with the renowned classical progressive band Renaissance, including their performances at Yestival in 2013, “Cruise to the Edge” with Yes in April 2014, and two sold-out performances at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
Ryche recorded his first solo album, “Trouble in School”, while managed by Tony Smith of Hit & Run Music, who also managed fellow recording artists Genesis, Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel.
In 1985, he composed (with Michael Jay and Julie Last) and performed, the title track for the movie, “Key Exchange”, along with three other songs on the soundtrack.
In 1993, Ryche was asked to write and produce aerobic musical tracks for exercise gurus Denise Austin and Joanie Greggains, which had sales of over 2 million tapes. This led to working on productions for Motown and sessions with members of Todd Rundgren’s band, the OJ’s, Billy Joel and many others.
In the Spring of 2014, Ryche contributed to Fireballet’s 2014 re-issue of the “Night on Bald Mountain” and “Two, Too” albums, released on Innerknot Records in America and Marquis Records in Japan.
Ryche is an awarding-winning soundtrack composer for the movie “Rising”, for which he received the 2016 Award of Excellence for Individual Achievement in Music from the Southern Shorts Awards. He has been the producer for projects by various artists as well as his new project, Ryche Chlanda and Flying Dreams.
In 2016, Ryche also released the album “Ryche Chlanda and Flying Dreams” under the Transglobal® record label Distributed through Sony’s The Orchard. His new project, Ryche Chlanda and Flying Dreams, includes Ryche on vocals and guitars, Ron Bienstock on bass, Kendall Scott on keys, and Jay Dittamo on drums. Ryche Chlanda and Flying Dreams has performed at The Cutting Room in NYC; The Hall MP in Brooklyn, NY; NJ Proghouse in Dunellen, NJ; and are slated to perform at 2018 City of Angels Rockfest, The Shrine in NYC, and ProgStock 2018. The band is working on a new EP, “Searching for Something Somewhere”, to be released at ProgStock in October of 2018.
